Lyra decided to take a break in the Ilex Forest and fell asleep, clutching the egg Professor Elm wanted her to take. Silver stumbled upon her and knelt to cover her with a blanket. Sensing warmth nearby, she lunged for it, knocking Silver backwards into a tree. Sighing in defeat, he covered both of them, making a vow to get out of there before she awoke. It was in that moment that he realized, perhaps he cared more than he thought.
